Standards for Provision of Echocardiography in Ontario

The Standards for Provision of Echocardiography in Ontario are intended to ensure the utility, reliability and safety of echocardiographic examinations in the province.  

Reviewed by a diverse group of echocardiography experts, the standards address all components of echocardiography service delivery and take into account advances in technology and clinical applications. greater clarification and align content to reflect current practice.

This document specifies required practices for adult transthoracic, stress and transesophageal echocardiography.  It is not applicable to intraoperative, paediatric nor congenital echocardiographic examinations.
