Clerkship Travel Program: Eligibility and Participation
- Medical students enrolled in the last two years of an undergraduate program at any Ontario medical school
- Accepted for a clinical rotation in Ontario at an Academic Health Science Centre hospital more than 100 kilometers from the clerk’s home medical school (with the exception of travel between campuses of the same medical school, e.g. travel from Thunder Bay and Sudbury for rotations at NOSM, travel between Windsor and London for rotations at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University)
- Rotations must be a minimum of two weeks to a maximum of 12 weeks
- Have not received travel and/or accommodation reimbursement for the same academic year from the Clerkship Travel Program
- Have not received compensation for travel and/or accommodations through another program
Participation
Before participating, read the guidelines.
Submit the following:
- Completed application/expense form
- Original detailed itemized receipts for travel and accommodations
- Confirmation from the Undergraduate Medical Education office providing:
- Confirmation that you are in good standing;
- Rotation location and dates upon completion of your rotation;
- Academic year for the eligible rotation;
- Social Insurance Number form
- Confirmation of Banking Information
Please review the expense guidelines before booking travel and accommodations to ensure all guidelines are followed.
Submit appropriate supporting documents and retain a copy of all the documentation for your records.
