Find a Locum Assignment

Locum assignments are arranged directly between locum physicians and eligible hospitals.

Physicians can search Northern Specialist Locum Program opportunities on HFOJobs.

Before Starting a Locum Assignment

Hospitals should provide locum physicians with the applicable expense claim form and confirm any fees (e.g. travel sessionals, clinical sessionals, honorarium) that may be eligible for reimbursement during their assignment.

To ensure full reimbursement, physicians should review the travel and reimbursement parameters outlined below and on the expense claim form in advance of making any travel arrangements.

To minimize potential delays with reimbursement, physicians should submit their banking information to the Northern Specialist Locum Program as early as possible to allow time for the Ministry of Health to set up direct deposit.
