Position summary
Ontario Health is seeking expressions of interest from Ontario Radiologists for the position of Radiology Quality Lead, Ontario Lung Screening Program (OLSP). The Radiology Quality Lead is the primary clinical resource for the Radiology Quality Assurance program (e.g., standards, monitoring, quality) and for engaging with lung cancer screening sites regarding issues related to radiology. The Radiology Quality Lead oversees radiology-related aspects of lung cancer screening, and collaborates with OLSP Clinical and Scientific Leads and program staff to identify potential quality issues, provide guidance during the expansion of OLSP, and provide strategic direction and expertise on the evolution of the OLSP. This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic leadership to the evolution of the Ontario cancer screening programs, and is open to all qualified candidates.

Accountabilities
The key responsibilities of this position are:
- Ongoing leadership for the Radiology Quality Assurance (QA) Program for the Ontario Lung Screening Program (OLSP). At a minimum this includes:
- maintaining and identifying best practices related to radiology quality standards for lung cancer screening;
- working collaboratively with the provincial clinical and scientific OLSP leads to oversee indicator reporting and performance, including: data review, analysis, and interpretation of reports;
- refining quality requirements and defining quality measures and indicators as needed, especially in the context of a provincial lung cancer screening program;
- support OLSP site engagement as needed as part of performance management and/or quality discussions, especially as pertaining to imaging-related issues;
- supporting and/or enhancing processes to monitor compliance with quality standards and requirements including reports;
- supporting OLSP expansion, including identification of challenges related to imaging (e.g., capacity) and the development of mitigation strategies;
- providing change management and knowledge transfer and exchange (KTE) support to engage both current and new OLSP sites;
- assisting with the preparation and review of any written reports and documentation related to the OLSP and Radiology QA program, its implementation and/or operations;
- Contributing to strategic planning and implementation for the OLSP, including:
- provide expert advice and support to OLSP partners regarding lung cancer screening with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) including both Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) and OLSP clinical and scientific leads, champions and working groups. This may include onsite meetings at OLSP sites;
- participate on the OLSP Expert Panel (an interdisciplinary panel consisting of provincial experts in lung cancer screening, smoking cessation, imaging, primary care, regional cancer program administration, thoracic cancer diagnostic assessment, pathology and surgery);
- contribute to the provincial cancer imaging quality agenda through participation in regular (approximately monthly) meetings with the Regional Leads and Provincial Program Head for the Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) Cancer Imaging Program.
Qualifications
- Radiologist with significant expertise in thoracic CT scanning, including experience in LDCT for lung cancer screening;
- Licensed to practice in Ontario
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based health care and experience developing and/or implementing evidence-based guidance;
- Clinical and/or administrative leadership experience for health services;
- Demonstrated commitment to patient focused care and public accountability;
- Enthusiasm for, and commitment to, quality assurance and quality improvement in imaging at the system level;
- Experience in promoting change and process improvement initiatives involving multiple stakeholders;
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications related to lung cancer screening research;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams; and
- Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
