Melissa is an experienced legal advisor and leader. She joined Cancer Care Ontario (now Ontario Health) in 2011 as Legal Counsel and has held progressively senior positions, most recently as Vice President, Legal Services, and Assistant General Counsel. Previously, she worked at the Ministry of Health, Legal Services Branch, and in private practice. In her current role as General Counsel and Executive Lead, she provides collaborative and strategic legal advice to Ontario Health and leads a talented and dedicated legal team.
Melissa has expertise in a broad range of areas, including contracts, procurements, privacy, compliance, workplace matters and investigations. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (Canada), issued by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
Melissa holds a Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Life Sciences from Queen’s University.
