Chief Human Resources Officer
Val brings over 30 years of experience in human resources leadership roles in organizations across multiple sectors including KPMG Canada, Aviva Canada and Torys LLP. She was Chief Human Resources Officer at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority during a period of significant investment in talent, leadership and workforce development. She also ran a successful consulting practice supporting companies to embrace new ways of working in the wake of the pandemic and calls for social reform. Immediately prior to joining Ontario Health, she was Special Advisor, Talent & Leadership at University Health Network where she led the development of a nursing talent strategy, restructuring of the recruiting function and creation of their inaugural executive leadership program.
Val has proven success championing and advancing employee engagement, talent strategy and HR operations working closely with leadership teams, CEOs and Boards of Directors. She has dedicated her career to driving organizational value and productivity through people and translating organization priorities into actionable people strategies. Her role with Ontario Health includes strategic leadership of our human resources team and providing expert advisory services to support and promote Ontario Health as a high performing, agile and talent- focused organization.
