Emergency Department Locum Program: Hospital Eligibility and Participation
Eligibility Criteria
Hospital eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis based on relative highest need. Considerations in assessing the risk of closure due to lack of physician coverage include:
- the percentage of the emergency department physician complement being actively recruited for
- availability and use of staffing alternatives
- hospital size/emergency department volumes
- degree of isolation
- other factors
